HIGH QUALITY TREATED WOOD POLES The benefits of wood as a pole material are widely recognized by those who deal with overhead lines. Only the best material It is not just the species that makes Pinus silvestris the finest material for the production of wood poles. Creosote treated pine, grown in Northern Europe, has been exported worldwide for more than four decades. Why? Because the latitude and climate are directly responsible for trees with greater strength, straighter growth and fewer knots than trees of other climates. In short, Finntrepo selects only the best, defect-free specimens from an area exceeding 200000 sq.km of the finest North European forests. Excellent strength and quality Finntrepo products have a reputation for exceeding rather than merely meeting standard requirements. The slow growth of Nordic pine results in extremely compact annual rings. These in turn quarantee superlative strength characteristics, more than sufficient to meet most national standards, such as BS 1990: 1984 (British), NFC 67 100 (French) and ANSI 05.1 (USA). Best treatment The value of creosote as a preservative has been known for over 150 years. Constant laboratory research and development in the field, combined with the best raw materials, ensure that Finntrepo remains the top name in treated wood poles. Finntrepo products undergo high pressure and total immersion creosote impregnation. Penetrating the entire sapwood, this Ruping process affords protection against climatic and insect decay for up to 50 years. Wide range of products Finntrepo products include wood poles for electricity transmission and distribution as well as telecommunication lines, with associated kicking blocks and anchor logs. Available in lengths from 7 to 20 meters, all products are treated after drilling and preparation to the client's specifications. CCA treatment is recommended for products to be erected in cool, humid conditions. Wood poles are economical The strength to weight ratio, durability, workability, availability and freedom for maintenance makes wood poles economically competitive compared with steel and concrete poles. In direct comparison the total cost - material, transport, foundation, erection -of wood poles are only a fraction of those of e.g. steel poles. Constant quality control Every pole is scrupulously examined, each process exhaustively tested, every batch carefully inspected.
